The main purpose of this job roles is to:

Support the Prince’s Trust Team Leader in providing young people aged 16 – 25 years with the opportunity to develop their skills by engaging them in a 12-week education and personal development programme. Recruit and retain young people to the programme and provide additional support to maximise their opportunities to obtain full-time employment, education or further training resulting from their contribution to the programme.

You will also, at times, be required to support Targeted Youth programmes, Safety Central programmes and events delivered by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service to children, young people and adults across Cheshire as required.

Duties will cover/ include

  • Supporting recruitment through engaging with young people, arranging and conducting interviews and working with local statutory, community and other agencies to ensure young people are aware of the programme.

  • Supporting promotion and marketing of Princes Trust Team Programme by increasing online social media presence.

  • Conducting initial and continuous skills assessments, using results to establish individual action plans, providing information, guidance and further support for young people in preparation for employment.

  • Maintaining existing partnerships and identifying new and sustainable links to support the Team Programme and the young people who attend.

  • Managing and organising all resources.

  • Being responsible for the welfare of all staff, volunteers, visitors, partners and attendees of the Team Programme

  • Attending three residentials per year.

  • Completing and maintaining all the relevant paperwork required in relation to the delivery of the Princes Trust Team programme.

  • Identifying suitable community projects and work-based learning opportunities for young people on the programme. 

  • Acting as an appropriate role model and assisting young people to overcome personal barriers and challenging life choices that effect their potential and personal safety.

To join our team, you’ll have:

A qualification in Youth / Education and proven experience supporting young people in an education setting and working one to one ideally in a supportive / guidance role. Be willing to be trained as Princes Trust Team Leader to deputise in their absence. Have a knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, health and safety and experience of implementing risk assessments. The ability to build strong relationships with partner agencies. You will be highly motivated with strong administration skills and an ability to prioritise workloads. You will be able to work flexibly including evenings & weekends, hold a current full driving licence and be willing to drive service vehicles.
