Road safety events

We are holding a number of road safety events across the county throughout November. Our road safety team and firefighters will be offering free vehicle checks and sharing advice to help drivers stay safe on the roads.

20 November - Widnes

Widnes firefighters be at Asda showing the difference between a good roadworthy tyre and a bad tyre and advising customers to check their tyres before the winter months are upon us.

21 November - ‘Who is taking you home tonight?’ Campaign launch in Northwich

Cheshire Road Safety Group will be engaging with the public to raise awareness of the consequences of drink and drug driving and talking through different ways to get home , as part of a partnership focus on impaired driving which coincides with a National Police Chief Council (NPCC) operation.  

23 November - Blue Planet Aquarium

Firefighters from Penketh are visiting Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port to discuss the difference between safe, roadworthy tyres and worn or unsafe ones. They’ll be advising customers on the importance of checking their tyres as winter approaches.

30 November - Nantwich Fire Station

Our road safety volunteers and firefighters from Nantwich are putting on a road safety event at the fire station. They’re going to be talking all things road safety, mainly focusing on tyre safety and drink and drug impairment.

Events that have already taken place:
14 November - Winsford

Firefighters from Winsford will be on Morrisons car park, offering free vehicle checks to help drivers stay safe. Using a simple checklist, they’ll check over key parts of your vehicle and give you useful feedback. They’ll also top up your screen wash, if needed, and will have free ice scrapers to give away to get you ready for the colder months.

15 November - Widnes

Widnes firefighters be at Aldi showing the difference between a good roadworthy tyre and a bad tyre and advising customers to check their tyres before the winter months are upon us.

18 November - Birchwood

Firefighters from Birchwood are visiting Asda to discuss the importance of roadworthy tyres. They’ll explain how to tell the difference between safe, reliable tires and worn or damaged ones, encouraging customers to check their tyres as winter approaches.
